Lear Corp granted acceptance by Debt Holders
By. L.Simms

Nov. 9 (Bloomberg) For the past four months Lear Corp has been in bankruptcy. Little to Lear’s amazement Debt Holders granted acceptance to Lear Corp transferring $3.6 billion of debt equity. Information provided by the Southfield, Michigan based company is that Lear recovered with over $1 billion and even less in debt. Its supplier’s statement revealed a 25 percent increase rather than its previous range, thus causing a drastic sales backlog of $1.4 billion around 2010 thru 2012.

In past history Lear Corp superseded customers like Chrysler LLC and General Motors Corp into bankruptcy, because of the global sales declination. Suppliers have offered information that new shares will begin trading on a trial basis, but will assume regular New York Stock Exchange within a few days. Chief Executive Officer Bob Rossiter gave in a statement, “We have streamlined our global cost footprint and improved our operating efficiency in every region of the world.”

According to last year’s annual report Lear Corp assumed business as usual even though they were going through bankruptcy. One of Lear’s largest customers was GM, it was calculated to be 23 percent of Lear’s $13.6 billion in sales last year. The next customer was Ford Motor Co. at 19 percent. According to court documents JP Morgan Chase & Co. is providing Lear Corp with $950 million in loans.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Allan Gropper granted the reorganization Nov. 5. Lear Corp filed for bankruptcy July 7 with the regulations to restructure its debt and helped Lear to win support for a Chapter 11.
